About the book:
Aleema Omotoni is a British-Nigerian author living in England. She writes novels that centre Black teens - especially Black girls - navigating friendships, family and coming of age. Aleema loves musical theatre, astrophysics and rainy autumn days snuggled up with a new TV show to binge. She used to be a Waterstones bookseller and wrote “Everyone’s thinking it,” during her final year at university.
About the author:
“Everyone’s thinking it” is an exploration of Black girlhood, following the lives of Nigerian cousins Iyanu and Kitan at an elite boarding school in England as they navigate community and desirability. They find themselves at the heart of a mysterious conspiracy in this sharply observed, highly entertaining contemporary YA novel brimming with drama, gossip and romance. Sensitively handling social issues including racism and
queerphobia, Everyone’s thinking it, explores the
fragility of reputation and the power of community while
weaving a hugely entertaining mystery.
