About the event
Happy New Year!
Have you got any content creation resolutions? Well so do we! Most of our members and subscribers found out about Shelf Interest Book Club through social media! And we are so grateful for booktok and bookstagram being such positive and helpful channels for our growth.
We noticed that many of our followers have their own bookish social media pages, and thought a great way to start the year would be to get some tips and tricks to optimise our online experiences, increase our reach and build our communities!
We've got an expert to help us all out, John-Paul, who managed to reach 10k followers on tiktok in under a year, this has afforded him lots of opportunities!
About JP:
John-Paul aka jpreads on TikTok is a Black Book enthusiast with a particular love for Literary Fiction, Thrillers, and Romance. He sets out to put more black and queer reads from authors around the world on people's bookshelves and brings to the spotlight to authors that mainstream media may not always pay attention to. His interest in authors and their work has put him in the position to guest host book clubs and interview authors about their work in real life and also online. He has recently spoken with Lola Akinmade-Akerstrom (In Every Mirror She's Black), Celine Saintclare(Sugar, Baby ), and Taylor-Dior Rumble (The Situationship). He plans to continue to encourage everyone to diversify their bookshelves and enjoy stories from perspectives that they may have never considered before.
