About the event

This webinar explores why we feel hopeless and how hopeless is maintained in everyday life, from a cognitive behavioural perspective.   

WHAT WILL I LEARN? 

✓ An understanding of what hopelessness is.

✓ A brief overview of how we can use cognitive behavioral theory to understand why we feel hopeless. 

✓ Some tips on how you can manage and improve hopelessness using evidence-based techniques.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Maria is a Psychological Therapist with a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Psychological Practice, that permits her to work therapeutically with adults who experience common mental health problems. She has over 7 years’ mental health experience working in settings including primary care, forensic psychiatry, and special education needs.    

Maria has experience working one to one with people who present with:  

- Overthinking, worry and rumination  

- Generalised Anxiety and Panic  

- Low mood and Depression  

- Lack of motivation and fatigue  

- Stress  

- Insomnia  

Her primary research interests lie in the field of Applied Psychology, where she currently holds a master’s degree in Applied Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Maria is passionate about Psychology and uses psychological theory to inform her practice where appropriate.
